Holtz, best known for his collegiate football coaching career at schools including Notre Dame, developed a deep passion for golf throughout his life. He hosted a SiriusXM radio show called 'Holtz in One' and was a member at prestigious clubs including Lake Nona Golf & Country Club in Orlando and Augusta National.
His greatest golf accomplishment came in 2005 when he won the member-member at Augusta National, which he called his 'greatest accomplishment' as he got his name on a plaque at the club. Interestingly, Holtz's first golf coaching job came in 1962 when William & Mary made him golf coach to boost his $300 salary, despite admitting he 'didn't even know how to keep score.'
