When an NBA fan hears the name Joel Embiid, they might think more about his injury history than about his MVP award or other accolades.

He's in the news for the wrong reason once again, as he'll be sidelined with an oblique injury.

After the news was announced, Embiid's teammate Andre Drummond had a heartwarming yet hilarious reaction to Embiid's latest hardship.

“I want to wrap him in a bubble sheet and give him a hug, man. I just feel like he can’t get a break,” Drummond said (via Gina Mizell).

Embiid has played in just 91 games since the 2023-24 season, with both long-term and short-term injuries decreasing his availability.

It's been a tough battle for the former MVP, and the timing of his latest injury isn't exactly ideal, as the 76ers are both looking to stay out of the play-in positioning, as well as move up.

The 76ers are 21-12 when Embiid plays this season, and just 12-14 when he's not playing.
